“Go ye therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.” Matthew 28:19-20
Our Rector is Fr. Greg Miller
Father Greg was raised in the home of loving parents who instilled in him a love for Christ, music, and the beauty of traditional Anglican forms of worship. His father was a traditional Episcopal Priest whose congregation voted unanimously to leave the the Episcopal Church in 1976 as a result of that denomination’s departure from the traditional Anglican way: later, his father became a Bishop in the Continuum. Father Greg met Shirley at an interdenominational Bible study at UCLA, and they were married in 1978. After earning his Masters of Divinity in 1981 from Fuller Theological Seminary, Fr. Greg has served in churches and chaplaincy ministries in California, Michigan, Oregon, New York, and Virginia before moving to Weaverville in 2012. Fr. Greg is also a pianist, organist, choir director, and has served as a hospice chaplain, RN, and patient care coordinator. He also has a master’s degree in Nursing Education.
Shirley is also a graduate from UCLA, has taught in primary education, and has been actively involved in leading church women’s and children’s ministries. She has been teaching in the Canterbury Classical School since its inception. The Millers have three grown children, and eight grandchildren.
